John Blake is an artist always searching for a new outlet. What we might see as an interesting object, John sees as a range of possibilities. He envisions unique uses for everyday pieces which take "repurposing" to an entirely new level.
For the St. George Parish Auction 2020, John found an old pallet in a shop and was intrigued by the way that the wood was meshed together. He worked with it, used epoxy and made a custom iron base for it. This unique table was donated to support St. George Church & School.
Blake Contractors has been rebranded as John Blake Construction to reflect its expanded services. John built the success of Blake Contractors on his design of custom outdoor spaces. As his business grew, so did his clients' requests for his expertise in their indoor living areas. John combines his problem solving ability with his artistic eye and has created innovative design solutions that are truly unique. Working with indoor spaces allows John to showcase additional skills and expertise in creating more functional and livable spaces for his clients. Repurposing materials and reworking the layout of an existing area to create a modern space with a better functioning floor plan has been a rewarding challenge. John enjoys working with owners to determine what truly works for the way they live. "A design can be beautiful but if it's not in harmony with the way in which a family's daily activity flows, it's not going to be functional.," notes John. "I'm focused on providing the best quality product for my clients and looking forward to new opportunities as John Blake Construction."
